8 interview follow up tips to improve your chance of getting hired

Even if you get assistance from a job coach in your employment search, you should definitely be proactive in scheduling your interviews. Equally important is your follow up after the interview:
  1. Follow up after both in-person and phone interviews.
  2. Send a personal thank you email to everyone you met with immediately after the interview.
  3. Consider sending a handwritten thank you note as well within 24 hours of the interview to stand out from the pack of other applicants.
  4. Reiterate your interest in the job and the company and explain how you can contribute to their success.
  5. Highlight your relevant skills.
  6. Mention anything you wished you had said, but didn't, during the interview.
  7. Keep your correspondence short.
  8. Proofread your email and notes before you send them.
